Senate File 2154: Education Savings Grant
Sponsors:
Senators Behn, Johnson, Guth, Segebart, Garrett, Sinclair, Ernst, Chapman, Rozenboom, Kapucian, Chelgren, Zaun, Anderson, Bertrand, Whitver, Boettger, Feenstra, Zumbach, Breitbach, Greiner, Schneider, Dix, Smith and Houser.
Summary:

This bill would allow homeschool parents to ask for money from the state to cover some homeschool expenses. However, because this puts families in the position of asking for money from the state, it invites an avalanche of burdensome regulations. If this program had instead been structured as a tax credit—where families keep their own money—there would have been reason to support it.

HSLDA's Position:

No support.
