Senate Bill 291: Provides for a Statewide Assessment of School Readiness for Children from Prenatal Age Through 5

This is a companion bill to House Bill 3428. Among other things, it would provide for a statewide assessment of student school readiness covering children from prenatal age through age 5.
HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA believes that parents, not the state, are best qualified to determine when their child is ready for formal instruction. This bill should be opposed.
