Senate Bill 271: Homeschool Tax Credit
Sponsors:
Senator Nancy Jacobs (R-34)
Summary:

Following the amendment of SB 271 on January 30, it is now a good, clean tax credit bill that will help all families who choose non-public education—both homeschool families and private school families.

Following the amendment, the bill no longer refers to the homeschool regulations, or even to homeschooling at all. It refers generically to "non-public education." This is a significant improvement. If enacted, families can obtain a $1,000 tax credit for books, tuition, correspondence courses, etc. HSLDA supports the bill as amended.
