Senate Bill 2027: Requires Civics Education for High School Students
Sponsors:
Senator Collins
Summary:

This bill would require that high school students be taught about our nation's founding by studying various historical documents. It would also appear to create state testing on this subject, because the Department of Education would be required to report annually to the legislature on the effectiveness of the teaching. This bill appears to apply to all students, including homeschoolers.
