This bill would lower the compulsory attendance age from 6 to 5 and delete the provision allowing parents to disenroll a child from kindergarten while the child is under 6 years old.
HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA believes that parents, not the state, are best able to determine when a child is ready for formal education. This bill should be opposed.
