House Bill 681: Tightens Attendance Requirements for Children age 5-7

Currently, if a child over 5 but under 7 is enrolled in school, a parent may simply withdraw the child from school and be excused from attendance requirements if they submit written notice of their withdrawal. This bill would restrict this option by only allowing a child to be excused for a very short list of specific reasons, or by requiring the parent to attend a meeting with the school principal.
