House Bill 5038: Creates a Statewide Child Health Study
Sponsors:
Joint Committee on Children
Summary:

This is a bill similar to Senate Bill 45. It would require the commissioner of Children and Families, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Health, to conduct a study to evaluate the health of children throughout the state. This is a very broad mandate that does not specify the purpose or need of any such evaluation. Presumably it would include all aspects of every child's heath—mental, physical, and emotional. This would constitute an unwarranted invasion of privacy.
