Summary:

House Bill 4031 would require children to "attend an approved kindergarten program in a public or private setting or in a community-based program licensed by the department of early education and care."

HSLDA's Position:

Oppose.

The language of this bill appears to apply to all children requiring them to attend a kindergarten program. The bill also seems to require all kindergarten programs including homeschool "kindergarten programs" to be licensed by the department of early education and care.
