House Bill 3455: Creates the Child Development Education Program

Summary:

This bill would create the South Carolina Child Development Education Program (CDEP), a full-day kindergarten program for 4-year-olds who are at-risk. While this would begin as a voluntary program, such programs often become mandatory.

HSLDA's Position:

HSLDA opposes any such increase in the involvement of the state in education.
