House Bill 343: Lowers GED Access Requirements

Summary:

House Bill 343 removes the requirement for students to get approval from superintendents in order to take the GED. If passed students would need to apply to take the GED with approval from their parent or guardian.

HSLDA's Position:
Support.

Although most homeschoolers do not take the GED there are instances where a GED is helpful. This bill will make it easier for all students to take the GED without unnecessary and burdensome bureaucratic obstacles.
