House Bill 3424: Creates a Full-Day Kindergarten Program for At-Risk Children

This bill would create the South Carolina Child Development Education Program (CDEP), which would be a full day, 4-year-old kindergarten program for at-risk children. It would begin as a voluntary program for families, but these programs often evolve into mandatory programs. Included in this program would be parenting education by the state.
HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA opposes any such expansion of state involvement in education and parenting.
