House Bill 1783: Lowers the Compulsory Age of Attendance in Metropolitan School Districts

Summary:

This bill will lower compulsory school age to 5 in urban school districts (Kansas City and St. Louis). While this bill may not immediately affect homeschool families, exclusions (like the one listed in this bill) are vulnerable to court challenges, and even more vulnerable to future legislative repeals.
