Right now, homeschooled students will be eligible to participate in the South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship only after July 1, 2013. Also, homeschooled students are required to have higher SAT (or ACT) scores than public school students to be eligible for the scholarship. This bill would make the scholarship available to homeschoolers now, and would implement test score requirements that are the same for public school students and homeschooled students.
