Assembly Bill 2681: Prohibits Children under DYFS Control from being "Home-schooled"
Sponsors:
Assemblywoman Valerie Huttle (D-37)
Summary:

This bill prohibits children under the care, custody, or supervision of DYFS from being "home-schooled".

In many situations this bill covers, DYFS already has the authority to make a decision about the child's education. For those cases, no new law is needed. In some cases, the very best thing for a child in DYFS custody might be to be homeschooled. The local DYFS office should have the ability to allow for homeschooling, in that case

HSLDA's Position:

Status:
