Frequently Asked Questions:
|
- What is Clicks for Homeschooling?
The program is based upon something that an increasing number of our members are doing regularly—shopping online. Many online merchants have affiliate programs, through which they pay commissions to other businesses for promoting their product or website. Clicks for Homeschooling is Home School Legal Defense Association's twist on the affiliate program. When you use HSLDA's Clicks for Homeschooling web page to shop at your favorite online retailers*, we receive a commission that we donate to the Home School Foundation. You don't pay anything extra!
- How does the Clicks for Homeschooling program work?
It is as easy as:
1. Pick - Pick a retailer from our list. Can't find a retailer? Tell us!
2. Click - Click the retailers link to go to their online store.
3. Shop - Shop like you normally would. The retailer does the rest.
- Can I use Clicks for Homeschooling when I physically shop at a retailer or when I order by phone or through a catalog?
No. The Clicks for Homeschooling program ONLY works online and only using our special links.
- How much of my purchase amount goes to the Home School Foundation?
The amount varies by retailer and averages between 5 and 15 percent.
- I can't find a retailer I shop at online on the Clicks for Homeschooling list. Can you add them to the list?
We welcome suggestions for additions to the Clicks for Homeschooling list. To make a suggestion use our comments form. Please be aware that in order for us to list a retailer with the Clicks for Homeschooling program the retailer must comply with our retailer guidelines.
The listing of a retailer with the Clicks for Homeschooling program does not constitute the promotion of or endorsement by the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) or the Home School Foundation (HSF) of that retailer, its products, or its actions.
The Clicks for Homeschooling program is intended to benefit the Home School Foundation by providing funding that comes from activity with retailers that our participants would likely have undertaken anyway. HSLDA recognizes that some retailers may have products and services that are not consistent with those normally promoted by HSLDA or the Home School Foundation and we urge all purchasers to shop responsibly.
The listing of a retailer with the Clicks for Homeschooling program is based on the following guidelines and all retailers are listed at the sole discretion of HSLDA and can be removed at any time.
Retailers wishing to participate in the Clicks for Homeschooling program must comply with the following guidelines. All retailer inquires should be made using our comments form.
- Retailer must operate an "Affiliate" type program and demonstrate the ability to accurately identify and distribute the proper funds to HSLDA/HSF.
- Retailer must have products and services that have a demonstrated usage by HSLDA/HSF website visitors.
- Retailer must provide a rate of return to HSLDA/HSF that is reasonably proportionate to any promotional or real value received from inclusion on the Clicks for Homeschooling program.
- Retailer must not require an exclusive agreement.
- Retailer must not convey any endorsement by HSLDA or HSF without written consent.
- Retailers that operate as Franchisees, Multi-Level Marketers, Independent Distributors or other similar business models are generally not welcome to this program.
