Mary E. Schofield, HSLDA Of Counsel
After graduating her two sons and a niece, veteran homeschooling mother and state homeschool advocate Mary Schofield went to law school and became an attorney in 2007. She and her husband Paul have been married over 30 years, and they began their homeschooling journey in 1986.
Mary has been enjoying her “retirement” from active homeschooling by continuing to serve on the Board of Directors for the Christian Home Educators Association of California and by remaining active in legal and legislative issues surrounding private and home education, family freedoms, and parental rights. Mary now teaches law at her alma mater and has a law practice in northern California.
She authored The High School Handbook, a guide to home educating junior and senior high school students, and she continues to speak at home education conventions throughout the United States.
“Thank you for organizing this very helpful event. I plan to discuss this information at our next PSP (Private School Satellite Program) meeting.” — Sandy, CA
