Dr. Fred Worth
Dr. Fred Worth earned a B.S. in mathematics from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri, and then an M.S. and a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Missouri–Rolla. He taught one year at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, and six years as a teaching assistant at the University of Missouri–Rolla. He has been a professor of mathematics at Henderson State University in Arkansas for 18 years. He is also the associate pastor at Twin Rivers Church of the Nazarene near Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Fred and his wife, Beth, have one son, Mark, who lives in Kansas with his wife, Debra and their homeschooled son, Christopher. For the past nine years, Fred has spoken at numerous homeschool conventions: from Arkansas to Texas, Missouri, New York, and Oklahoma. The majority of his presentations have been mathematical in nature, seeking to help homeschool parents more effectively teach mathematics to their children. Additionally, Fred has made a number of presentations on more pastoral topics, aimed at encouraging homeschool parents, particularly fathers, in making their homeschool experience as effective and rewarding as possible.

10/20/2009 (10PM EST): Setting Up Guideposts for Your Children
As we travel through this life, we see signs or guideposts that give us direction, warning or encouragement. Children need those guideposts. They need positive, godly guideposts. Parents are God's agents for setting up those guideposts. In this workshop, Dr. Fred Worth will discuss the different kinds of guideposts that are needed and how to intentionally set them up for the protection, guidance and encouragement of our children.

10/29/2009 (10PM EST): A Father's Role in Homeschooling
What does a father have to do with homeschooling? Michael Smith, the president of HSLDA, tells of his wife's reaction when he informed her that they would be homeschooling. Her immediate response was not about curriculum, pedagogy or discipline. Instead she asked, "What will your role be in this?"
During this webinar, Dr. Fred Worth will explain that, even if Mom is doing the majority of the instruction, the father has a very important role in the success of the family's homeschool. His role encompasses academics, discipline and spiritual leadership. We will take a look at what Dad needs to do to be successful in each important part of his role as a homeschool father.
