For Christians to be engaged in cinema means working on very dangerous grounds theologically, morally, ethically, and vocationally. This workshop will present the vocational realities for homeschooling students and parents, specifically: 1. How to navigate through these grounds effectively without sacrificing your own walk in Christ; 2. Powerful new ways of making feature-length films using homeschooled talent, digital film technologies, grassroots marketing and distribution, and new business models; and 3. How to discover film resources in God’s economy, including raising funds, rallying cast, crew, and community.

Culture is religion externalized. When Christians fail to be engaged in cinema, we cede ground to the enemy. The result? Serial killers and madmen are lauded as role-models by Hollywood. Christians must create movies that are told from a biblical worldview and not a secular one. Learn how God is using pastors and homeschoolers to confound the “wise” and the world, as they lead this charge with movies like Fireproof, Facing the Giants, Come What May, and The Widow’s Might.
