The holiday season is just around the corner! If you’re wondering how to keep your children focused on educational pursuits amidst the whirl, you won’t want to miss this webinar! One of the great beauties of homeschooling is the opportunity it provides to turn all of life into a learning experience—and author, speaker, and homeschool mom Zan Tyler wants to share her thoughts on both the educational and spiritual lessons to be found in the holidays. Do you want to transform those hard-to-manage, informal days of study into a productive time filled with unique learning situations and environments? Using Thanksgiving and Christmas as the foundation for her discussion, Zan will offer key principles for making the most of any holiday as a family, both spiritually and academically. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the juncture between education and celebration and to help your children learn and promote the deeper reasons for the season!

Reaching out to the lonely. To the needy. To the broken. Scripture tells us that whatever we do “for the least of these” we have done for Christ. Jayme Metzgar has a heart for “the least of these” around the world, and she also has ideas for how to help your kids begin to have a heart for missions. She will present creative ways to raise awareness among the young people in your family and community. She’ll also provide practical tips on how to help your kids put their heart for missions into action. Even more importantly, you’ll gain a new perspective as Jayme shares her heart. A homeschooling mom of four, Jayme spent time serving in Romania as a young woman and has started a non-profit called Romania Reborn to reach out to the children of that country. Prepare to be touched and inspired by this @home e-vent!

If you’re beginning to feel stuck in the same old rut with your school routine, maybe it’s time to liven things up a bit—holiday style! Seasonal celebrations like Thanksgiving and Christmas provide the perfect opportunity for you as a home educator to conduct mini unit studies, while also making fun memories with your children. HSLDA Early Years Coordinator Vicki Bentley—a former homeschool mom herself—has a wealth of experience to share about using the holidays to teach your kids all through the year. Give the gift of celebration to a child or grandchild all year long!

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose . . .” The changing season may be putting you in the Christmas mood—but it takes more than a little frost and the barrage of toys in the department stores to bring you the true Christmas spirit. How are you going to reinforce the real Christmas message this year? What do you do if your children are convinced that presents are the best part? Homeschool alumnae Kaylyn Carlson and Melissa Hudson have activities, discussion topics, and crafts to share—all provided with the goal of helping your children remember the One Child whom Christmas is all about. This is an e-vent you’ll want to bring your whole family to. Come prepared to relax, have fun, and be reminded of God’s great Gift to each and every one of us.

Kurt Dahlin has done it all, from drilling over 100 wells in Malawi to leading educational tours around the world. As the CEO of Water Wells for Africa, Kurt has seen and met the basic needs of thousands in Malawi by providing water to poor villagers, visiting the country once a year to make sure the pumps are still working properly. How does he stay involved as a homeschool father while remaining active in the mission field? Come to this exclusive @home e-vent to learn how Kurt successfully runs a non-profit while investing in his family as a homeschool dad of six and a granddad to three, and see how you can potentially incorporate missions into your own home education program! Kurt will also be joined by his daughter Danika who will share her experience growing up in a mission-focused family. Sign up today!
