Sweethearts almost can't stop saying "I love you" to each other, but siblings almost can't stop fighting even though they love each other. How do we show love to the people that we see the most? How can doing this affect not only the family, but our friends and neighbors? MaryAnn Gaver, homeschool mom and contributor to the Home School Court Report magazine, will look into effective ways to set up a foundation of love within the family. Along with Belinda Parrish, homeschool mother of eight, MaryAnn will show how loving words and actions between parents and siblings provide a powerful testimony of Christian love to the world. Sign up for this encouraging and refreshing e-vent and let love blossom!

Imagine social workers and the police taking your child because you homeschool - a remote possibility? Few homeschoolers in the United States will ever face such an extreme circumstance, even though it has been known to happen. But in countries like Germany and Sweden, where parents are persecuted for homeschooling, the possibility of children being taken away is very real. Why should this matter to us in the U.S.? HSLDA Staff Attorney and Director of International Relations Mike Donnelly will interview international homeschooling parents in exile and other guests to discuss why what happens over there matters over here. You'll be able to call in to join the discussion, ask Mike questions, or share any personal experience you've had. This e-vent is absolutely free, so don't hesitate to find out how you can help homeschoolers who struggle for freedom and recognition.

HSLDA's contact attorney for Louisiana, Thomas J. (Tj) Schmidt, offers helpful information, advice, and guidelines to parents seeking to homeschool their children in the Sportsman's Paradise. Tj will discuss the two options available to homeschool parents under Louisiana law as well as the pros and cons of each option. You will learn what you are required to submit to the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, and what legal requirements you must fulfill when teaching your children at home. As time allows, Tj will discuss recent legislation passed to recognize home study diplomas as well as the educational tax credit, and will take your questions. Learn all you need to be informed and equipped for your Louisiana State-style home education program at this free-for-members e-vent!

Please note this e-vent has been rescheduled from its original date on February 16. Registrations are still open.
