HSLDA Contests: ART | ESSAY | PHOTO | POETRY

Art Contest

2008 Winners Named!

A good work of art can impact the artist and the viewer, a person’s thoughts and even his actions. Art can take reality a step further and capture the vision, potential, or significance of its subject. It allows the artist to express some of his soul and nature in a way others can relate to and find their reflection in.

Art has been a major telling point about cultures throughout history. Examine the works of Da Vinci, Monet, Frederic Remington, Winslow Homer, Norman Rockwell, and other great artists. They each told something about their culture and helped shape their cultures in turn.

This contest is meant to encourage homeschool students to learn and develop the skills of influential and telling artistry.
