House Bill 4023: Driver’s License Restrictions for Students
Sponsor:
Del. Richard Thompson (Speaker), Del. Tim Armstead
Summary:
Provides for the denial or suspension of a driver’s license for any student who withdraws from school or fails to receive passing grades. This legislation places broad requirements on all license applicants that could seriously inconvenience homeschoolers, who might not be able to satisfactorily verify their GPA. HSLDA would not oppose similar legislation if it more efficiently targeted the public school students with academic or disciplinary problems it was intended to restrict.
