House Bill 506: Protecting Families in Abuse/Neglect Investigations

Summary:
House Bill 506 requires the Department for Children and Families to establish a review panel to personally review any investigator’s recommendation that a child be removed from his or her home. The review panel must conduct its own investigation into allegations of abuse or neglect, and in nonemergency situations, a child may not be removed from his or her home unless the panel unanimously recommends the removal.
