Senate Bill 281: A Civics Education Program

Sponsor:
Senator Matt Dunne (D)

Summary:
Spends $70,000 to train Vermont public schools to be more politically active.

Status:

12/23/2003Pre-filed

Action Requested:
Contact your own Senator and ask, "How can homeschoolers get more involved in the legislative process?"

HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA is officially neutral on this bill, but we note that it would spend $70,000 to make public schools more effective lobbyists. Under the guidance of public school teachers, it is very likely that each public school student that gets more involved in the political process will demand more taxpayer money for public schools. HSLDA encourages every homeschool family to be personally involved in the political process to counteract the influence of the public school establishment.
