House Joint Resolution 678: Legislation Affecting Virginia Families

Sponsor:
Adam P. Ebbin

Summary:
Section 15-A of the Constitution of Virginia clearly states what can and cannot be recognized as marriage, and prevents the creation of an alternate status that approximates marriage. This bill adds vague, unnecessary language to this section that could potentially limit the effect of the recently passed marriage amendment.

Status:
1/9/2007 (House) Referred to Committee on Privileges and Elections.

HSLDA's Position:
Oppose!

Action Requested:
None at this time.
