House Bill 795: Provides an Exemption or Refund for College Fees

Author:
Representative Raymond

Summary:
Under certain, specific circumstances, a college student would be able to be exempt from or receive a refund of tuition and fees. One of the requirements is having “graduated from a private high school, including a home school, or a public high school in this state.” The term “home school” is not otherwise defined in Texas law; adding it now without definition could cause a change in interpretation of current private schools which operate in the home.
