House Bill 386: Public School Access for Homeschoolers
Author:
Representative Brian McCall (District 66)
Summary:
This bill would allow homeschooled students access to extracurricular activities and academic classes at their local public school. Unfortunately the bill adds the term "homeschool" to the Texas law, which opens up the opportunity for further regulation.
Status:
| 01/12/2005 | Introduced | |
| 05/09/2005 | Committee Report sent to calendars | |
| 5/13/2005 | Died in Committee |
HSLDA's Position:
HSLDA is neutral on the issue of equal access, but we oppose this bill in its current form because the term "homeschool" is used.
