Senate Bill 1283: Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Summary:
This bill is a companion bill to House Bill 1598. It would prohibit the government from substantially burdening a person’s free exercise of religion unless it demonstrated that such burden was essential to further a compelling governmental interest and the least restrictive means of furthering that interest.
