House Bill 3210: An Act Regarding Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrollment
Author:
Representative Brenda Gilmore
Summary:
This bill would permit children as young as 3 years old to enter a school district’s pre-kindergarten program and as young as 4 years old to enter a kindergarten program. Although such enrollment would be voluntary, history has shown that this type of legislation is the first step in expanding compulsory attendance laws and state control over education. This is a companion bill to Senate Bill 3183.
