Senate Bill 815: An Act Creating Full-Day, Four-Year-Old Kindergarten

Authors:
Senators Setzler, Courson, Short, Matthews, Rankin, Hayes, Sheheen, Drummond and Ford

Summary:
This bill would create a full-time kindergarten program for 4-year-olds and a parenting education program for their parents. Even though these programs would be voluntary as initially enacted, there is a likelihood that they would become mandatory. HSLDA opposes any expansion of state control of education.
