Senate Bill 948: Kindergarten for 4-Year-Old Children
Author:
Senators Rankin, Ford, Eilliott, Sheheen, Leventis, and Setzler
Summary:
This bill would have created voluntary kindergarten programs for 4-year-old children. While attendance would be voluntary at this point, the next probable step by the legislature would be to make it mandatory. Creating these programs would also be a tremendous expense to South Carolina taxpayers.
Status:
| 1/10/2006 | Introduced, first reading, referred to Committee on Education | |
| 6/15/2006 | Bill died when the Legislature adjourned. |
