Senate Bill 1046: An Act Creating a Statewide Immunization Registry Author: Summary: This bill would have authorized the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to establish an immunization registry. There is no indication whether this record keeping would be limited to children or would include the general population. Regardless, HSLDA considers such record keeping of personal medical information by the state to be an unnecessary invasion of privacy. Additionally, the increase in the number of state employees to administer this program will create an additional burden on taxpayers. HSLDA opposed this bill. Status:
