SB 505: Enabling Homeschool Graduates to be Employed as Public Safety Personnel or Instructors

Sponsors:
Sponsored by Senator Charles STARR; Senator GEORGE, Representatives BACKLUND, KNOPP

Summary:
This bill is intended to permit homeschool graduates to qualify for employment as public safety personnel and instructors. HSLDA supports this concept, but this bill requires compliance with the current homeschool statute of Oregon which would be repealed under a different bill, SB 761.

Status:
This bill was introduced on February 19, 2003 and has been referred to the Judiciary Committee.

HSLDA's Position:
This bill should be amended to delete the reference to ORS 339.035 if Senate Bill 761 is enacted.
