Senate Bill 3355: Tax Credit for Educational Expenses

Summary:
This bill would have provided a tax credit for educational expenses, including those incurred in a home instruction program. The maximum allowable credit would have been up to a total of $3,000 for a family making less than $40,000 a year to a maximum total of $1,000 for a family making more than $75,000 but less than $100,000 a year.

Status:
This bill was introduced on March 25, 2003, and was sent to the Senate Investigations and Government Operations Committee.
While the first year of the 2003-2004 session of the New York legislature ended June 20, 2003, this bill could be re-introduced in January of 2004.
