Assembly Bill 1601: Evidence Required for Removal of Children by Social Services
Assemblyman David Sidikman (13th District)
This bill would have required clear and convincing evidence that there was an imminent risk to a child's life, health or welfare or that the child may be subject to sexual abuse before a child could be removed from the home.
This bill was introduced on January 22, 2003, and placed in the Assembly Committee on Children and Families.
While the first year of the 2003-2004 session of the New York legislature ended June 20, 2003, this bill could be re-introduced in January of 2004.
This bill was supported.
