Summary:
This bill would provide a tax deduction of $3,500 for each child that is registered as a homeschool student during the entire school year that ends during the taxable year.

Action Requested:
Please call your State Senator and ask him or her to support SB 144 on the floor of the Senate by giving them this message, "SB 144 would empower parents to make the best decision for their children's education. Please vote 'Yes!'"

HSLDA's Position:
Support. This bill would help homeschool families financially without subjecting them to the regulations that often accompany direct government handouts. This bill has been amended to remove objectionable language.
