Legislative Bill 896: Exempt Student Activities

Summary:
Legislative Bill 896 would permit homeschoolers and other non-accredited private school students to participate in sports, classes, and other activities at the public schools.

Action Requested:
None.

HSLDA's Position:
Neutral. HSLDA takes a neutral position on whether homeschoolers should participate in public school classes and activities. This bill may be required by the Nebraska Constitution, which promises free instruction to "all persons between the ages of five and twenty-one years."
