House Bill 645: An Act Removing Optional School Disenrollment Provisions

Summary:

Current law permits a parent of a 5-year-old child enrolled in kindergarten to withdraw the child, and the child will not be subject to compulsory attendance until age 6. This bill would have taken away the right of a parent to withdraw a 5-year-old from a kindergarten program. HSLDA opposed this bill.
