House Bill 310: An Act Increasing Compulsory School Attendance

Summary:

Current law requires a child who turns 17 by September 1 to remain in school until the end of December of that calendar year. This bill would have required such a child to remain in school until the end of the school year. HSLDA opposes any expansion of state control over education by increasing the compulsory attendance age. HSLDA opposed this bill.
