Senate Bill 2173: Tuition Free Attendance for Students With a 3.0 or Higher GPA

Author:
Senator Butler

Summary:
This bill relates to Mississippi Resident Tuition Grants for students. It would have changed current law to provide that the full cost of tuition would be paid for students who have a 3.0 grade point average after seven semesters as certified by the high school counselor or other authorized official. This bill appears to have left out students in a home instruction program. It should have been amended to include homeschooled students in these benefits.

Status:

01/07/2005Referred to Appropriations
02/01/2005Died in Committee

HSLDA's Position:
This bill should have been amended.
