Author:

Summary:
This bill would have raised the compulsory attendance age from six by September 1 to six by August 1. But it would also have raised the compulsory attendance age to 17 by August 1 instead of 17 by September 1. This bill had both favorable and unfavorable provisions. It should have been amended to leave the upper age of attendance as it is in current law, only changing the age at which children enter school.
