Senate Bill 2382: Change in College Scholarship Eligibility

Author:
Senator Kelvin Butler (District 38)

Summary:
This bill would have increased the college scholarship benefit in the Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant Program to the full cost of tuition for any student with a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale after seven semesters as certified by the high school counselor or other authorized school official.

Status:
01/30/2004Introduced and referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee
03/09/2004Died in Committee

Action Requested:
None at this time.

HSLDA's Position:
This change would have left out homeschoolers, so the bill should have been amended to make it clear that they are included.
