House Bill 482: Change in Compulsory Attendance Requirement
Representative Bryant Clark (District 47)
This bill would have taken away from parents the right to decide when a five-year-old child is ready for school. It would have changed current law which allows parents to withdraw a five-year-old child from kindergarten and not be subject to the compulsory attendance law until age 6.
