Senate Bill 2636: Expansion of Compulsory Attendance Age

Summary:
Among other things, this bill would include in the compulsory attendance age any child who is five years old on or before September 1 and has enrolled in a full-day public school kindergarten program. This bill would not affect homeschool students but should be monitored for any amendments.

The Governor signed this bill into law on April 21, 2003.

HSLDA's Position:
This bill will not affect homeschool students.
