Senate Bill 243: Compulsory Attendance Age

Summary:
Current Missouri law makes school attendance compulsory between the ages of 7 and 16. Further, current law allows the St. Louis school district to raise their compulsory attendance age to 17 under certain circumstances. This act removes the provision for the St. Louis school district and elevates the compulsory school attendance age for all children in Missouri to 17 years of age.
