House Bill 1858: Income Tax Credit for School Tuition Organization Contributions

Summary:
This bill would redefine the type of school that is eligible to receive funds from school tuition organizations, allowing homeschools to participate.

Support. A number of states have tax deductions for businesses that donate to private school scholarship funds, and this bill would allow homeschools to receive those funds subject to the same rules.

Action Requested:
None at this time. The Minnesota legislature is now closed, and this bill did not pass.
