L.D. 272: An Act to Create Charter Programs Within Existing Schools

Boyd Marley (D-Portland)

Summary:
This bill would give school boards the authority to establish charter school programs within existing schools. HSLDA will oppose this bill unless it is amended to make it clear that this does not create a “virtual” school, but that the student must actually, physically attend the school.

Status:
1/25/2007 Referred to the Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs

This bill failed to pass out of its house of origin, and is now dead.
