Senate Bill 262: An Act Concerning Maryland's Marriage Protection Act

Senator Greenip

Summary:
The legislature closed without this bill becoming law.

The bill would have amended the Maryland Constitution to say that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid. Civil unions or relationships between parties of the same sex are invalid. This bill was cross filed with House Bill 48.

Status:
01/25/2006(Senate): First Reading Judicial Proceedings Committee.
03/01/2006 (Senate): Judicial Proceedings Committee Hearing at 1 p.m.
