House Bill 2197: College Admission for Homeschooled Students

Summary:
This bill would require colleges overseen by the Kansas Board of Regents to admit homeschoolers who score a 21 on ACT. Currently, homeschoolers already need to have an ACT score of 21, but are not guaranteed admission; instead, they are allowed in under as “exceptions” to the rule requiring graduation from an accredited school. Under this bill, homeschoolers would not have to seek exception to the rule requiring an accredited diploma.
