House File 804: Sets Mandatory Core Curriculum Standards

Summary:
This bill directs the state Board of Education to adopt rules that establish a model core curriculum and core content standards. The core content standards will be applicable to all students in kindergarten through grade 12 in every school district and accredited nonpublic schools. These standards will not apply to students who are being educated via competent private instruction (homeschooled).
